Nothing that can't be found elsewhere • • • • • (bewertet mit 1 von 5 Punkten) As an English teacher responsible for preparing students at the TU Berlin for the TOEFL, I'm always on the lookout for new materials to use in my class. I buy pretty much whatever comes out and am especially eager to get my hands on anything produced by ETS. I visit the TOEFL website and review all the ETS publications carefully, and some of what's in this book is available there. I specifically bought this book in the hope of getting some new sample questions to help my students prepare for the speaking and listening sections. Regarding the former, there was only one example for each of the six question types, and these were only audio and static text in the book - I had expected a CD ROM where the students could actually see how the questions look on the monitor. As for the listening, all of the examples provided in this book had already appeared in an earlier ETS product called LanguEdge, which I've had for over a year. To be fair to the publishers and ETS, the volume and accompanying audio CD are a convenient way for students and teachers alike to get a good overview of what the TOEFL iBT is like. Furthermore, there are lots of good study tips and other materials that test takers should find helpful in their preparation. Last but not least, the (new, reduced Amazon) price is quite reasonable for what you get.
